KENET has developed online courses to equip the KENET Community with relevant ICT related skills. These are online self-paced courses currently being offered at NO COST to the member community. This year, KENET plans to hold two (2) residential courses for the purpose of strengthening our member institutions technical capacity in both academic and research areas. ==Call for Nominations Advanced Network Management & Monitoring Training==
 
 
The call for nominations for the Advanced Network Management and Monitoring residential course is not yet open.
 
 
The selection criteria for this training is:
 
 
i.Applicants shall be senior Systems Administrators/Engineers with at least 3 year experience at a member institution.
 
 
ii. Applicant MUST have attended the previous Network Management and Monitoring Training. The applicant to demonstrate that he/she implemented the knowledge gained from the previous training.
 
 
iii. The applicant MUST show proof of projects they have implemented successfully on campus (Provide evidence).
 
 
iv. Applicants MUST be proficient in UNIX / LINUX operating system (e.g., have ISOC UNIX certification or LINUX certification or evidence of proficiency).
 
 
v. Applicants MUST submit a brief CV with a portfolio of relevant projects or work experience (attach a copy of passport photo)
 
 
vi. Willingness to be a Trainer of trainers and support nominating institution or other KENET member institutions.
 
 
vii. Nomination letter by the applicant’s ICT directorviii. ICT directors shall NOT be eligible.

| Bandwidth management and optimization course (BMO) is designed to provide necessary skills of managing and monitoring bandwidth usage on the campus network. The class shall have a maximum number of 25 participants per course. The duration of each course shall be 5 days at a cost of $1,200 per participant per course (residential for up to 6 nights). The following criteria shall be used:
