Welcome to the KENET training Wiki.

Kenya Education Network (KENET) is a National Research and Education Network that promotes the use of ICT in Teaching, Learning and Research in Higher Education Institutions in Kenya.

KENET aims to interconnect all the Universities, Tertiary and Research Institutions in Kenya by setting up a cost effective and sustainable private network with high speed access to the global Internet.

KENET also facilitates electronic communication among students and faculties in member institutions, share learning and teaching resources by collaboration in Research and Development of Educational content.For any queries email training@kenet.or.ke

1 Scalable Campus Network 13th,– 17th April, 2015 Scalable Campus Network Course is an advanced course on Switching and Routing concepts designed for experienced technical staff that operates a TCP/IP network. This course requires practical knowledge of IPv4 addressing and general network concepts, proficiency in UNIX and/or Linux and Two to Three years’ experience as Network Engineers/Administrators in a medium to large campus network. Network Administrator/Engineers, ICT managers and Systems Administrators
2 Network Management and Monitoring/ 25th – 29th,May,,2015 Bandwidth management and optimization course (BMO) is designed to provide necessary skills of managing and monitoring bandwidth usage on the campus network. The course will provide skills of bandwidth management principles within a campus environment and development and implementation of bandwidth policies. The training will also provide participants with skills to troubleshoot common campus network problems and how to install and manage network monitoring tools. Network Engineers/Administrator and Systems Administrators.
3 Cyber Security 27th,– 31st,July, 2015 Security within the campus network has become an area that Network and System administrators need to focus on. This workshop will focus on empowering the System/Network administrators in securing the services, applications, servers and campus networks in general. The course requires practical knowledge of IPv4 addressing and general network concepts, proficiency in UNIX and/or Linux and Two to Three years’ experience as Network Engineers/Administrators in a medium to large campus network., Network Administrator/Engineers, ICT managers and Systems Administrators
