About

KENET organised a one-day ICT Directors' Roundtable on November 28, 2012 at KENET training room, Jomo Kenyatta Memorial Library, University of Nairobi. This is a special roundtable for about 20 ICT directors that are currently implementing or have implemented wireless LAN projects funded by KTCIP (10 institutions), Google infrastructure grant (five institutions) or institutions with technical support of KENET (four institutions).

As we have implemented the wireless LAN projects we have realized that we need institutions to discuss issues of wireless LAN access policies and to explain how institutional policies affect the development of a the Kenyan R & E network (KENET) for the benefit of our community. We especially want to address the issue of database authentication of wireless LAN users and the implementation of EDUROAM policies (we shall start with your institutions). We met some of your wireless LAN techies two weeks ago and realized we need to engage you as well for successful implementation of the wireless LAN projects.
